KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Tennessee Department of Health says there were 5,071 new cases of COVID-19 in the state. That brings the state total to 278,215.
There were a 49 new deaths deaths bringing the total to 3,590.
There were 2,770 new recoveries bringing the total of recoveries to 249,162.
The Tennessee Department of Health also announced the large spike in numbers for Saturday is due to a backlog of tests and cases associated with a system upgrade from last weekend.
