According to Rural Metro Fire, at approximately 10:31 p.m. Thursday Rural Metro Fire responded to a reported house fire in the 6100 block of East Emory Road. Arriving crews found heavy fire coming from the front bedroom window.

“An aggressive interior attack kept the fire from extending into the bulk of the house,” Rural Metro spokesman Jeff Bagwell said. “The house did not appear to be occupied and appeared to be used for storage currently. Crews will remain on the scene for the next hour or so, which means E. Emory Rd will be closed just east of Stormer Rd.”

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

“As just a reminder as we enter the ‘fire season’ Rural Metro Fire urges home owners to ensure proper operation and make sure you have a home escape plan for your family,” Bagwell said late Thursday.
