KPD arrest suspect in Fast Cash Plus armed robbery

Knoxville police have captured a suspect accused of robbing a check cashing business Tuesday on Clinton Highway.

The Knoxville Police Department says the robbery was reported around 11 a.m. at Fast Cash Plus, 5100 Clinton Highway. Employees say the suspect demanded money at gunpoint. The employees handed over the cash and the suspect fled.

Ronald Berry, 58, was identified from information developed by the KPD Crime Analysis Unit and a tip received on the KPD Facebook page. After being interviewed by investigators, Berry was charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

Berry is being held in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a $40,000 bond.

No court dates or additional information have been released on this case.
