East Knox County home burns to the ground

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Rural Metro Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire around 11 a.m. Thursday to the 1200 block of Bales Road in East Knox County.

According to the department the fire was called in by the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and was fully engulfed and almost burnt to the ground when it was discovered. Fire personnel had to shuttle water from a hydrant a mile away.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was eventually contained and the wooded area around the home was unaffected.
