BAILEYTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports all three truck drivers involved in crash on Interstate 81 near Baileyton were transported to the hospital Tuesday night.
According to a crash report from THP, the crash occurred when a tractor-trailer began to merge into another lane on I-81 North and another tractor-trailer veered onto the left shoulder to avoid a collision.
THP reports the second vehicle traveled into the median and sideswiped the first tractor-trailer.
Both tractor-trailers went through the median and entered the southbound lanes of I-81, where they hit the third tractor-trailer.
The final tractor-trailer rolled onto its side after being hit, according to THP.
The report says all three drivers were injured and transported to the Johnson City Medical Center.
All three drivers were wearing their seatbelt and no charges are pending.
Emergency officials say two people were injured in a crash involving tractor-trailers on Interstate 81 in Greene County.
The crash happened Tuesday evening on I-81 south near mile marker 39 and the town of Baileyton.
According to the Fall Branch Volunteer Fire Department, the crash involved three tractor-trailers and resulted in two people suffering injuries.
TDOT said one southbound lane remained blocked as of 10 p.m.

According to TDOT, I-81 south is closed at mile marker 39 near Baileyton due to a multi-vehicle crash.
Video sent to News Channel 11 by a viewer shows at least three tractor-trailers involved in the incident.
No word on any injuries or how long the interstate will remain closed.
