KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knox County Sheriff’s Office cruiser was left with “disabling damage” after a crash on Tazewell Pike.
On Thursday around 10:30 a.m., Rural Metro Fire responded to a “serious” car crash on Tazewell Pike. Rural Metro said the crash snapped a telephone pole and lines were down.
The crash report from the incident states that two were injured in the crash where a minivan was travelling south on Tazewell Pike turned in front of a Knox County Sheriff’s Office cruiser driven by deputy Thomas Solomon. The minivan driver who turned across traffic was attempting to turn into a parking lot according to the report. Both drivers were taken to local medical centers.
Pictures of the cruiser after the wreck show it made impact with a telephone pole and the front driver’s side wheel is missing from the car.


According to the crash report, both vehicles had disabling damage. KCSO said that Officer Solomon was treated and released with nothing broken. While an update has not been made about the driver of the minivan, the crash report said that he had suspected minor injury.
