LOUDON, Tenn. (WATE) — One driver was killed in a Loudon County multivehicle crash that temporarily shut down Steekee Road Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to a crash involving three vehicles in the 14400 block of Steekee Road just before 5 p.m. on Monday.

William Meadows, 79, of Maryville was pronounced dead following the crash.

According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Meadows was traveling south on Steekee Road when his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle head on. Meadows vehicle continued south and struck a second vehicle head on before coming to a stop in the roadway.

Four people were injured in the crash. All parties involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the preliminary report.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area as first responders and Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers worked to clear the scene.
