Two loaded guns found at McGhee Tyson Airport in a week

ALCOA (WATE) – Two loaded guns have been found at McGhee Tyson Airport over the course of five days, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

The TSA tells WATE 6 On Your Side it found a loaded Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun in a passenger’s carry-on bag on Saturday. Then, three days later found a loaded Smith and Wesson .380 caliber handgun at a security checkpoint.

Those passengers were cited for the violations.

Four firearms have been discovered at a security checkpoint by TSA officers at the airport so far this year. A total of nine firearms were discovered at TYS in 2014.
