KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The University of Tennessee is giving runners a chance to do enjoy their hobby. The office of University Housing is the Fainting Goat 5K and Fun Run on April 2.
The event will take place on the UT campus at 9 a.m.
The race benefits Heifer International. The non-profit strives to end hunger and poverty around the world. This is not the first time the office has fund-raised for the organization.
The event is named after the Tennessee Fainting Goat. The breed has a condition called myotonia congentia. It causes a goat to appear as if it fainted.
Participants do not have to run during the event.
Registration cost $25 for non-UT students. UT students can register for $20. Participants can register online.
Participants can check-in at 7:30 at Fred D. Brown, Jr. Residence Hall. Parking is available in lots surrounding the building.
