UT receives $150k grant to fight invasive tick species


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – The Agriculture Institute at the University of Tennessee has been awarded a $150,000 grant to help fight the spread of the invasive Asian Longhorned Tick.

The tick has been reported in several East Tennessee counties.

With the help of grant funding, scientists will work to learn more about the tick and help identify how farmers and pet owners can protect their animals.
