UT Women’s Athletic Director Emeritus announced as a Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame inductee


Joan Cronan, Women’s Athletic Director Emeritus at the University of Tennessee has been announced as an inductee into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2019.

Cronan is currently Athletic Director Emeritus for UT after she served as the Women’s Athletic Director for almost 30 years.

These are just a few of her accomplishments while in office for the Vols: 2005 Athletic Director of the Year, 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award by Women Leaders in College Sports, first ever recipient of the NCAA Pat Summitt Award in 2017, and in 2018 recieved NACDA’s top award, The James Corbett Award. 

The other inductees include: Beth Bass, Nora Lynn Finch, Ticha Penicheiro, Ruth Riley, Carolyn Bush Roddy, and Valerie Still.

The class of 2019 is the 21st class to be inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, and the induction ceremony will take place on June 8, 2019 in Knoxville, Tenn.
