KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A vacant house caught on fire Thursday morning in East Knoxville.

The Knoxville Fire Department responded to a fire at 2115 Linden Avenue. Investigators say a 911 call reported a house in flames. Firefighters did not enter the house because they believed it was too dangerous, according to Captain D.J. Corcoran.

Firefighters used a hand line to protect neighbors from radiant heat. Also, crews proceed to do a defensive attack to control the flames, says investigators.
