Knoxville, TENN. (WATE) – South-Doyle standout Ton’Quez Ball made it official Wednesday, signing with the Tulane Green Wave on the first day of the early signing period.
The cornerback and wide receiver was lauded by head coach Clark Duncan as “always making the program proud,” for his competitiveness on the field and his upstanding behavior off of it.
“I’m very happy, it’s exciting. I’ve been waiting on this my entire life,” said Ball.
A big sales pitch for Ball? The ability to play early.
He’ll play cornerback for the Green Wave, but said he’ll be involved offensively as well.
“He walked on campus and he was a player right from the get-go,” said Duncan. “He makes us all look like really good coaches. He’s done things over the last four years that you just can’t coach. He’s just a great man, great student, works hard, it’s been a treat to have him in our program.”
