No. 21 Tennessee is 13-0 for the first time in program history after an 11-2 rout over Troy on Tuesday.
With the win, the Vols broke the 2014 team’s previous record of 12 wins in a row.
Tennessee junior Luc Lipcius led the way, going 2-3 with a triple and 3 RBI in the game. Andre Lipcius and Jay Charleston added two RBI each. Evan Russell broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning on a fielders choice RBI to third base.
The Vols pitching staff didn’t need any more help after that. Sean Hunley (3-0) picked up his third win of the season, allowing two runs in five innings of work. Camden Sewell, Chase Silseth, Tanner Kohlhepp and Elijah Pleasants threw one inning a piece, allowing no runs.
Tennessee begins a three game series with Fresno State starting Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
