Chelsea Seggern hit a career high two home runs while Ashley Rogers struck out 13 on Friday in No.12 Tennessee’s 8-0 run-rule win over Longwood to start its NCAA Regional.
Seggern, a junior third baseman, added six runs batted in on top of her two home runs, passing her career high of four.
Meanwhile, Rogers was near unhittable. The Tennessee freshman did not flinch in her postseason debut, giving up just two hits. Her 13 strikeouts tied a career high and marked her fifth game of the season with 10 or more.
Tennessee will play Ohio State in Game 3 of the Knoxville Regional Saturday at Noon.
