Knoxville, TN. (WATE) – Tennessee’s late rally to end the regular season came up short on Saturday. In the recent past, that would have meant the end of another year for the Vols. Not this time.

The Vols were unable to complete a sweep against No. 16 Ole Miss, losing the finale 5-4 after rallying to score three in the 7th and cut the lead to one. Disappointment at the finish, perhaps, but an excitement about what’s to come.

On Tuesday, the Vols will play in the SEC Tournament for the first time since 2016 as the No. 9 seed, and remain a very strong contender to play in the NCA Tournament in two weeks time.

Tennessee ends the regular season 14-16 in the SEC, their most wins since last reaching the NCAA Tournament in 2005, and their third place SEC East finish is their highest in the division since that same year.
