Two-time defending SEC Player of the Year Grant Williams announces he will stay in the 2019 NBA Draft.
In an exclusive interview with the Stadium sports network, Williams announced his intentions to remain in the upcoming draft and forgo his last year at the University of Tennessee.
Williams announced at an early April press conference that he would enter the 2019 NBA Draft.
Williams was one of the nation’s best all-around players last year, averaging 19.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 steals per game.
The Charlotte, North Carolina, native was named SEC Player of the Year and a first-team All-SEC performer—both for the second straight season. He was also been named a finalist for the 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy Men’s Player of the Year Award.
He was also named to the SEC Community Service Team, SEC All-Tournament Team, United States Basketball Writers Association District IV Player of the Year and is a first-team All-American by Sporting News and the USBWA.
