The New England Patriots tried their best to rally back against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday but they eventually fell short and dropped to 0-2 on the season with a 24-17 loss to their AFC East rivals

The Patriots’ final offensive play of the game was a wild one, which came with an equally wild call by NBC’s Cris Collinsworth. On fourth down, Mac Jones completed a pass to tight end Matt Gesicki. He got wrapped up just short of the first-down marker and lateraled the ball to an offensive lineman, who then tried his best to get a first down.

The play was reviewed and Cole Strange was ruled short of the first, which gave the ball, and the game, to the Dolphins.

Collinsworth’s reaction sure was something:

The Dolphins are now 2-0 after road wins over the Chargers and Patriots to start their season.
