Eighteen-year-olds can’t openly carry guns in Tennessee, but it could be legal for them to not only carry a handgun publicly but even an assault rifle.

An 18-year-old woman is charged with criminal homicide in the death of her baby after a police investigation. According to the Blount County Sheriff's Office, the baby was taken to the hospital after they responded to the home where the baby was found not breathing. BCSO said the baby did not survive and than an autopsy showed that the baby died of asphyxiation.

Two teens were convicted of first degree murder in the death of Stanley Freeman Jr.

The jury in the murder trial of Stanley Freeman Jr. convicted Deondre Davis and Rashan Jordan of all three charges of first degree murder, felony murder, and aggravated child abuse. The Judge explained to Davis and Jordan that the charges of felony murder and first degree murder were merged into a single conviction of first degree murder for both of them, which automatically carries a life sentence.

The trial for the two accused of killing Stanley Freeman Junior has wrapped up. The jury began deliberation Friday afternoon.
